Horsley, the Most Experience and the Best Technology

After over 12,000 lasik procedures and thousands of other refractive procedures, Dr. Will Horsley Medical Director of the Lasik Vision Institute in Burlington is one of the most experienced lasik and refractive surgeons in New England. Dr. Horsley is Cornea Fellowship trained and lasik board certified by the American Board of Eye Surgeons, (www.aces-abes.org), in addition to being Board Certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology. Other refractive surgeries performed at the Horsley Eye Center are Conductive Keratoplasty, (to restore midlife loss of reading vision), clear lens exchange, (for severe hyperopia), and the intraocular contact lens of ICL for extreme nearsightedness.

Besides doing all the Lasik procedures for the Lasik Vision Institute, Dr. Horsley also treats his own private patients from his office in Stoneham. The private patients are all treated EXCLUSIVELY on the VISX STAR 4 laser with active track 3D eye tracking and WAVESCAN WAVEFRANT SYSTEM. The tracker can measure the eye position an incredible five times for each pulse of the laser, and if movement exceeds its tracking ability the laser is shut off in a 50th of millisecond. Then the computer that drives the laser remembers the exact point so the treatment can be resumed without any adverse effect, if the patient inadvertently moves.

Many have read in the lay press of the so called SUPER VISION, besides basic optical errors, (standard spero-cylindrical optical errors), all of us have some non-standard optical aberrations, (spherical, trefoil, and coma), that degrade our vision. With the WAVESCAN WAVEFRONT SYSTEM  and the VISX CUSTOM VIEW PLATFORM, these aberrations can be measured and corrected, greatly enhancing the basic optical correction. Each us has a wavefront finger print, so to say, that can be measured and treated on a custom basis, for a refined personal treatment and optimal results. The Human Retina has a resolving capacity of around 20/10 vision, but this is seldom achieved, due to these additional optical aberrations. The WAVESCAN WAVEFRONT SYSTEM has lead to a statistically significant improvement in our laser vision corrections, many patients achieving the so called supervision, better than 20/20 vision, with improved night and high contrast vision, (visx.com).
